Bamboo is extremely fast growing, with high productivity per hectare compared with other timbers. Bamboo is renewable and easily sustainable.

Bamboo flooring is stronger, harder and more stable that almost any other timber flooring. It has a tensile strength to rival steel. Bamboo flooring has greater dimensional stability and therefore less expansion and contraction than traditional wood floors. Adding to its natural strength is a lamination process that prevents expansion and contraction.

Bamboo has an all-natural light colour. Amongst all the hardwood timbers, this naturally light colour is totally unique to bamboo.

Many bamboo importers source their flooring from a variety of smaller mills that use outdated milling and laminating equipment. This can lead to an end product that has gaps or can easily split. Bamboo stalks must be grown to maturity prior to harvesting to ensure the strength and quality of the product. Many new or less experienced companies may be buying bamboo stalks that are not mature and therefore not as hard and as durable. In addition, ensure quality adhesives are used to avoid delamination or high levels of urea-formaldehyde.

Consistency in manufacturing processes is critical in order to produce a quality product. For example, colour consistency, machine tolerance can only be obtained if the manufacturing processes are precise and repeatable. BT Bamboo is faultlessly sealed during manufacturing to be extremely durable and hard wearing. It is UV cured and pre-finished with 7 layers of aluminium oxide coating, using leading edge technologies to ensure a perfectly smooth and dust free finish. BT Bamboo comes is gloss, satin or commercial coating or raw for onsite coating.
